Man I just really took a look at released on BD for the next 3 months, and I have tallied up about 40 movies I want. At $22 average that is almost $900. I meen there are some really great titles coming out and more that I am sure will be announced. This winter is going to be a lot of fun but extremely expensive. Here is a link to a list of movies coming out....

To each their own.

Personally there are only five titles I'll buy: 2001, Ratatoulle, Close Encounters, Live Free or Die Hard and Blade Runner. Some of the others will make for good rentals on Netflix.

There are about ten must own titles for me so far and several others that I'd like to have. I've got to start formulating my plan of justification for the wife. :p

I'll be picking up 20 of those titles.....provided Fox doesn't postpone any more releases.

Honestly, from what I have seen on a lot of older movies so far (like my T2 and 5th element, etc... for example). The quality isn’t really that much better visually for me over their DVD counterparts that are upscale. Saying that, I probably won’t go *back* and buy Blue disks for DVD titles I already have. But any new movie from this point on that comes out will be blue only.

Not quite 40 - but close enough that I'm glad I'm single right now. No girlfriend in their right mind would allow the amount of hardware/software purchases I'm making this fall.

I'll want a bunch, for sure. Fortunately with the holidays coming I can put them in my wishlist and everybody who's always wanting to know what I want for Christmas can have a detailed answer. People love to give DVD's. Just need to make sure they get my color :D.

I tend to agree with you that HD does not make me hate my old DVDs but there are some of the titles that I have the original early DVD releases and they are not anamorphic. There may be more substantial differences in cases like this. There is still the issue of watching the same movie several more times though to justify the cost.:)

I'm in for a bunch of new BDs this 4th quarter (including a new
Samsung BD-P2400 or Sony 500; although the PS3 still seems to hold its own against nearly all the stand alone units.)

Really looking forward to Spidey 1-2 and Master and Commander. The new Dave Mathews/Tim Reynolds sounds interesting, as well.

I already placed orders an Amazon for:
Bladerunner, Ratatouille, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Eyes Wide Shut, Spidey Trilogy, Pixar Shorts, Close Encounters, and POTC 3.

I'll likely get Live free or Die Hard, Ronin, Cars, Robocop, and possibly Surfs Up and Master & Commander.

Oh yeah, theres still some room on the shelf for Debbie Does ...

So, in answer to your question, I'm bleeding green (and Blu) - To quote Agent 86 "and loving it".

What my wife doesn't know won't hurt her. :p I just spent $200 on the amazon 2 for 3 special; 9 bluray and 6 hddvd. When she says 'stop spending so much on this stuff!', I reply, 'but I don't spend money on beer and smoking.' After that, she stutters and wanders off, mumbling to herself.
