View Full Version : UK Pulp Fic and Kill Bill Delayed (on release day!)
Monoplex 09-03-07, 10:19 AM I just received a notice that my movies (which were due to ship today, mind you) have been delayed until November.
I understand that delays can come up, but since when does this happen on the day the things are due to ship?
This makes me say "Grrrrr."
The UK/Euro releases always seem to be hit or miss.
MSmith83 09-03-07, 10:28 AM I figured that this was too good to be true. Oh well.
Monoplex 09-03-07, 10:32 AM How do they handle the logistics of pulling a release on notice this short? I mean, wouldn't stores have set out displays the day before?
From what I know of Amazon, as soon as a delay is known about, I'm notified. Again, I was notified on the release day.
dvdmike007 09-03-07, 10:32 AM Alot of Uk publications reviewed them last month

Interesting. What did they think of the audio/video quality?

Really? Any links?
A word of warning: all UK releases of Pulp Fiction are censored. When it was released back in the 1990s, the BBFC (the UK equivalent to the MPAA) had Buena Vista/Disney zoom in a shot of a needle being inserted. It's about 3 seconds worth of editing, but I still wouldn't buy it.

T3 and a few other tech mags did I get the feeling they were written with out seeing the discs
Monoplex 09-03-07, 10:57 AM If the needle scene is all the editing (kind of odd that's the one scene they edited out, IMHO), I think I can live with that.
Hopefully they're being delayed so that there can be a worldwide launch of these titles in November... Hint, hint!
I phoned up my retailer last week about those releases. He mentioned that the dates specified on the net were false and no specific dates were announced. This means that Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction were never to be released on September the 3rd in the first place.
Monoplex 09-03-07, 12:18 PM It seems like this was more than simply a rumor. Amazon UK took my order with a September release date.
rboster 09-03-07, 01:09 PM The titles being pulled from release came up in the Kill Bill etc thread. I left my order in place hoping that I might get lucky and the info was incorrect...but it was not. Josh had also spoken to his contact who confirm they were not set for release yet.

even Amazon has it wrong at times ;)
Monoplex 09-03-07, 01:39 PM You'd think that they'd (Amazon) would have access to information at least as reliable as Mitch's retailer.
Hey, it is what it is. Having said that, I'm had to cancel a viewing party for all three titles because of it. Fudge.
UxiSXRD 09-03-07, 02:25 PM I can't wait for Pulp Fiction and will import that if i have to. Kill Bill I can wait for, though.
Monoplex 09-03-07, 05:32 PM "Did you really think ordering Kill Bill on Blu-Ray would be that easy?"
"You know, for a moment, yeah, I did."
Just to reiterate, these titles were never announced and were only listed at retailers. However we noticed in July that the listings had been taken down. Seems like Amazon (or whoever) were slow to notify you
Ian_Currie 09-04-07, 12:47 PM I only ordered mine last week when Amazon UK sent me an email highlighting them!
Monoplex 09-04-07, 02:27 PM Either the studio suddenly withdrew it (which would leave at least 50% of the population disappointed and angry) or someone at Amazon mightly screwed up.

As of Sunday morning, Amazon UK had pulp and kill v1 on their hourly updated top 10 list. Sad that they drew ppl in with bad information. Someone needs to improve the updating on their data base.
Monoplex 09-05-07, 08:33 AM Damn skippy.
