View Full Version : Tomb Raider: Cradle Of Life (German Blu-ray) - Region Free?
The second Tomb Raider film is supposed to be released today in Germany according to Amazon.de. Has anyone ordered this disc yet? I'm hoping to find out if it'll play in U.S. BD players before I do so. Just noticed it's being distributed by Concorde Video so this may be an alternate way for BD fans to get a U.S. HD DVD exclusive movie on Blu-ray.
It's region free.
Do you have a link to confirm this or do you own it?
bump - still hoping someone knows something.
abraxox 09-09-07, 02:05 PM Just picked up Tomb Raider 1/2 and also Underworld 1 at a German store. I use a American PS3 for watching BDs, and they all play on it perfectly fine.
So, I can confirm that these three discs are region free, there isnt any mentioning of a region code on the case or the disc. Therefore, I guess that the rest of the 10 new BDs from Concord are region free as well.
There are no forced sutitles and English DTS-HD core sound is available.

So did the German version of Cradle of Life (BD) have an English soundtrack, and was it compatible with North American high def standards (work OK with your high def TV through HDMI or Component connection)? What $$ (and where) did you scoop it up?

I have a copy as well. Of course it's compatible with NA standars. Audio standards are pretty universal. It has a 1.5mbps DTS english track and a German DST-HD MA lossless track. it playes just fine on my player

I have it as well and very disappointed about the dts-hd being German only
english is only core dts. will upgrade when paramount release in usa someday
btw yes region free.
Is there any news on when a US version of Cradle of Life is coming?
why would anyone even care? one of the worst movies of all time and why would a bluray release change that?

Thank you, your contribution is most appreciated.
I have the German BD and would like to add that all on-screen captions are in german only. (location title-cards, foreign language subtitles etc.) Otherwise a good release.

You need to watch a lot more movies.
It's a fab action/adventure movie and much better than the recent Indiana Jones flick and much better than the original first film.
Love this part than the first, will pick one, thanks.
