Has anyone tried that Mt. Dew Game Fuel? I think it's great tasting but after I bought one box of 12 cans I can't find it anywhere now. I really want some more but every store I go to has a display for it but it's all gone. If it's that great of a hit do you think Pepsi will make it always even after the Halo 3 hype?

It's the only "specially-flavored" Mt. Dew I like.

Hit up Wal-Mart. There's always a huge supply of bottles and cans at the one I go to.

I know locallythere is a grocery chain called 'Fry's' and they have all pepci products for 5 boxes of 12 for $11, along with free pair of diamondback tickets. I skipped over the Halo Mountain Dew as I was not sure, but maybe I should go and pick up a few boxes if everyone states that they like it. I also saw the boxes at Target, but they were not on sale.

The Target by me has a big display with 12packs for $2.50/each but they were all sold out both times I went.

I got some friday and it is pretty decent and it does pack a little kick.

Everybody keeps talking about this soda.. I gotta try it!

halo 3 advertising or not, this soda is f*cking great. 7-11 has the slurpee now too, it really sucks because it will probably go away, but this is my favorite flavor of any soda, and a can comes in at 73mg of caffeine!

i may shoot an email to pepsi, let them know they're doing something right, and hopefully it wont go away... think about it, they can keep the moniker "game-fuel" and all the new games coming out can pay pepsi for the advertising, everyone wins!

I was thrilled when I saw some a couple of weeks ago in a store. I bought a 20 oz. for right then and a 2 liter for later. It's not good.

I love MD, and I like Code Red a lot too. The H3 variety is not as good, IMO.

But I'm still a fanboy, and I'll drink the whole 2 liter.:D

honestly i hate code red and love the game fuel. i like livewire too, but that's only when i'm on an orange soda kick.

It was alright, didn't totally blow me away. I still enjoy the orange Livewire more.

Yea the orange limewire was really good but this stuff is really good too imo plus theres like 74 MGs of caffine in it ha ha. Its good stuff. I will only drink it ever so often so I dont feel guilty for rotting my teeth ha ha.

suprising take. I thought the Livewire Orange tasted like liquified gummy bears. The Halo 3 game fuel is just a variation on that formula, instead of liquified gummy bears it tastes like liquid gummy worms!

Knowing that I love Halo, my wife picked up a couple of 20oz'ers for my to drink while playing Bioshock. I actually really liked it, and now whenever I stop to get gas or smokes, I pick up a bottle of H3 Mountian Dew.

Dumbest commercials ever for a product...though I suspect you could put a Halo 3 logo on a piece of rotting, maggot-infested dog feces and someone would buy it up in a heartbeat and rave how great it tastes. :confused:

some may like the taste, others may not..... red bull has 80mg/8.3oz of caffeine and costs 2 bucks, this has 73mg/12oz and costs about 20 cents a can.

get past the hype, this is a good soda, and a very good price on a highly caffeinated beverage.

on another note, the manager at a local 7-11 told me that he'd also be selling copies of the game come sept 25th.

I took a can from my parents house. I thought it was too sweet. I couldn't even drink the whole can. It tasted like someone took a mountain dew and dumped 20 strawberry flavored pixie sticks in it.

How many do you think would try it if they didn't co-market it? :confused: Halo fanboys are their prime target audience...easily-influenced, lots of discretionary income, subject to peer pressure bandwagon jumpers, eager to be the coolest "kid" on the block by owning anything and everything that says Halo on it or whatever the current trendy thing may be. Had they made it "The all-new, Transformers Mountain Dew" they would have gotten the same results.

All fun aside, it is a pretty brilliant marketing tie in. When halo releases there will be thousands if not millions who "go to the mattreses" and will play nonstop for days. You market a soda which is already a staple of long haul game sessions as halo fuel you will sell tons of it during launch. Whatever marketing firm they paid to come up with that earned their fee

No one mentioned/noticed that this flavor is just a mix between Baja Blast and Code Red? Not that I'm complaining. I stopped drinking most sodas a few months ago (and not coincidentally I've lost 30 pounds, but not just from the sodas) so I waited until yesterday to try this, and I think it's great. I guess it's good that it's going away since I'd be tempted to start drinking a can every morning again (now I drink a half bottle Fruit20 energy. 120 mg of caffeine per bottle and no calories/sugar.)

I mean seriously "Game Fuel"... The word "Fuel" makes you believe we're doing something active, like an engine or an athlete needing sustenance. Instead, we're sitting on our asses for hours on end playing games... We dont need fuel... we need an occasional stretch... Maybe run in place for a few minutes... I dont know..

Putting that many calories into our sedentary bodies during long gaming bouts is unneccesary... Should be called "Guaranteed to make you need a gym membership" Fuel... but I guess thats not as sexy.

I don't think it will be that big of an issue. Brewed coffee has 80-100 mgs (or more) of caffeine per cup. You may not have noticed but coffee has been pretty popular for awhile.

I tried it last night. It was mmmm good, but what a crash. Gotta stick to sugar free.

i personally think it's a mix between code red and livewire, no baja blast... i mean it's just orange and cherry, which livewire and code red are... and the color looks orange in the light, and red in a not-so-lit room.... but i'm not sure how/where your theory on the baja blast comes into effect.

how did they get past the caffeine limits? is it because it isnt a "cola" because cola based beverages are limited to 200mg per liter (33.8oz) which is 118.3 for 20oz, and the bottle (20oz) says 120mg, and the 12oz can contains 73mg when they are only allowed 71mg

I bought four bottles of this and I'm already fiending for more! After hearing so much criticism, I had to try it myself and I find myself liking the taste. The additional dose of caffeine doesn't hurt either!

As a pharmacist, I can say that its effects could have a positive impact on performance. Whether or not its enough to show up in the form of more kills is another matter.

I suggest to others to have at least SOME food in your stomachs to prevent the "shakes", unless you already know your tolerance levels for caffeine.

Lol. My Fiance and her nursing friends had a long study session over the weekend and my 12-pack of gamefuel was gone in about 2 hours. She went to Target and got me a replacement pack though.
