Is there any way to change it from 1080i to 720p?

Some channels are broadcast in 1080i and others are broadcast in 720p.

If you want to convert all channels to 720p for output to your display, then you can do that. On Motorola boxes, turn the box off and press menu to change the output resolution.

I have a Scientific Alanta HD DVR STB.

How would I be able to do that?

This helped me out alot. I changed it to 720p without no problem.
