I'm about to purchase my first all in one remote control and have narrowed myk purchase down to the Harmony 720 or 670. Knowing nothing about Harmony remotes, I was hoping to get some advice on the pluses and minuses of each model. I realize the 720 is a bit more expensive, but both are within my price range so if the 720 is regarded as the better remote I am willing to spend a little extra. The remote will be used to control a TV, DVR, Xbox, Receiver and DVD player. Opinions are appreciated. Thanks, Rob

The Harmony remotes are programmed and function the exact same way. The only difference between them is the battery type and button layout. In your case, the 720 has a rechargeable battery while the 670 needs you to replace the batteries. The 720 also has a color LCD.

... and an automatic "tilt" sensor (not a "glow" button that you have to press, which is what I think the 670 has).

I have the 670 and I regret not getting the 720. Mainly because of the glow feature and the ability to recharge it. Hope that helps. Also, I found that Amazon had the best prices.
Anyone have any input on which setup they like better for DVR functions. I notice they both have two different layouts with the 720 having the buttons in a straight row, and the 670 having them circled around the OK button.

I have the 670 and like the button layout. I don't have a DVR, but I use the heck out of the cable box and my HD DVD player. It is really handy having all of the buttons in a circle so I can reach them all with my thumb.
I believe the 670 was made for DVR users.
