Hope this is the right forum for this question.

Has anyone had any experience with certain types of "scrubbers" that are plugged in between the wall outlet and the tv? Sort of like a surge protector, but its supposed to "clean the electricity" coming in. Its claim is that it much improves picture quality. Does anyone know if this is true??

Unless you have more money than you have any use for and need to get rid of some in which case it is true.

A good filter is all you need. They are about $20-30, if you want to build-up the rest (box, outlet, power cord):

There is such a thing called a "constant voltage transformer". They are big, heavy, and cost a bunch of money, and waste energy just sitting there, but if you have very poor voltage regulation (your voltage drops a lot when heavy loads are turned on, and surges when loads are turned off) they can clean them up. The one brand that I had used many years ago were made by "Sola", and we just called them "Sola transformers". They work very well and fixed many problems we saw, but they are not cheap.

Sols transformers are very good for industrial applications, but I would not even think of using one in a home theater.
