View Full Version : Not Happy With Synergy V DVR Remote

Guys,

This is SUPPOSED to be the new top of the line DVR remote that you often get on the new DVR's from TWC. However, I do not like it for a couple of reasons:

1.) The worst is that the Power All button is on the top far right hand side of the remote. Almost no space below are the individual buttons for controlling your cable DVR and TV. I have found that for people with large hands, it is often times very difficult to hit the Power All button without inadvertently also hitting the TV button or the CABLE button next to it.

What this means is that sometimes you will accidentally turn off one device and not the other because there is not enough space between the buttons. You could wind up leaving your TV on all night and having your cable box off, when you want to turn them both off at the same time. The remote is new and the batteries are strong because I can change channels from clear across the room. However, it seems that if you are sitting on an angle from the TV, as opposed to a straight line, the sensor that goes from the remote to the DVR, doesn't always turn both the DVR and TV off when the All Power button is pressed.

2.) Or, it could be that my hands are too big for the remote, or the fact that I am left-handed. The OLDER DVR remotes had the main POWER button on the left hand side with more space between that button and the individual device buttons. This is a VERY poor design.

Anyone else have similar problems with this new remote?
