My buddy is ordering this TV tomorrow, and I'm going to try my 360 on it when he gets it. Has anybody else used it and what are your thought's? I've seen a little bit of it 47 inch version in action, just wondering about the 42...

gonna be basically the same... amazing set for the price. i'll be moving my 37 into the office and picking up the 42 or 47 here pretty soon.
i'd check the LCD section, plenty of owners in there with the TV+360

I have been using the 42 inch for a couple months now. Been usin it for 360 and PS3 and it works great. I actually have no complaints at all very solid t.v especially for the price. Plus I love that it takes 1080p over component.

How is it for HD television broadcasts though? The 1000:1 contrast ratio makes me skeptical about getting this set.

I have the 37" Westy. It handles HD programming beautifully as long as it's being broadcast in 720p. The Westinghouse hase a decent scaler (comparable with the 360's I'd say, as outputting in 720p compared to 1080p doesn't noticably alter the picture quality of games or dvds.)
However, the deinterlacer on the Westy is nothing short of atrocious. I can't feed it a 1080i image without getting a terrible blur effect. Heroes, which is broadcast in 1080i, even when I set my cable box to output 720p, looks just short of bad. This is on the '06 model. I don't know if it was improved at all on the larger westy's for 07.

I also use the tx42. i would've loved the 47" but no one within 350 miles stocks it. Ive had nothing but good things to say about it. Im using the xbox at 1080p over vga. And im coming from a 32" 720p Westy that has since been downgraded to the bedroom.
