Your thread title is a bit misleading. They are still evaluating it.

Sony, like their Blu Ray marketing campaign, is a proactive and progressive. They can afford to have many things going at once as outcome of any is uncertain. Certainly they want to be at the forfront of digital media and sitting out while download servies mature would be inept on their part.

Absolutely no surprise here. This format war may bring digital downloads to front runner status as the format war looks to be a long one.

Mnay companies are shying away from Apple...inc NBC. Steven Jobs is a megalomaniac.

The possibility of movie downloads soon on the PS3 is the only reason I haven't sold my PS3. Since getting a BD30, I will probably never use my PS3 for BD playback again. So all that is left to use my PS3 for is downloads of movie trailers, which it actually does very well. But movie downloads would be nice so I have another choice for HD VOD. Although If Sony doesn't offer it soon i will be selling my PS3.

Is the only reason why you bought the PS3 for the blue ray dvd player? what about the games?

No games on the PS3 since I can't stand the controller. And since getting the BD30, I definitely don't want to use the PS3 for BD playback anymore. So all I'm using the PS3 for now is trailer downloads.
