I believe the Messenger Kit is to be released today - just wondering if anyone that's out and about could see if it's landed in any of the B & M stores out there yet.

I've already been looking around. My local Target doesn't have it, EBgames manager looked at me like a ****** as he stated he never heard of it so its a no go there. I'll be checking Best buy later on today although its nowhere to be found on there site.

EB's site says ships tomorrow.

Does anyone think that they will release it in Elite black at some point down the road? I've checked various online retailers, and no one lists a black option. I want one, but not white. I could deal with the white rechargeable battery on one of my black controllers since I can't see it while playing, but a honkin' white keyboard on my black controller won't fly with me.

It looks like its off pre-order on Gamestops website, but they don't list it as being available at stores.

I grabbed one of these as I was going through Madison today (my local walmart suck for getting new stuff out).

It plugs into the controller where the headphones plug in at and fits snug and feels very secure. It does add a little bit of weight to the controller, but feels really good still. It doesn't get in the way and I've got pretty big hands, so I was relieved to know I could play with this on my controller and not be annoyed by it.

It comes with a new headset, the new headset plugs into the bottom of the keypad.

The mute and volume are on a seperate piece like the mics that come with cell phones nowadays.

I just ended up ordering with Amazon yesterday since no local stores had it in stock.

I got mine Tuesday at Best Buy.

Pretty cool device. Sure does make it easier to text MSN contacts and XBL contacts. Very useful in the Madden text area when playing online instead of using the generic messenges.

I have the thing as well and it really is pretty cool. I have no problems using the thing all the time. It does add some weight to the controller, but that not much to make a huge difference and you do get used to it after a couple of hours. Overall, I think its one of the best 360 accessories available.

I got my messenger chat pad earlier this week. I love it. It makes texting and entering letters a viable option again. I'm actually chatting with people on my friends list again. I'm not relying on stupid interweb abbreviations for everything I type. FTW, lol1!!!1. And I didn't know it until I saw it, but the fact that the keys light up, and do an excellent job of it, just makes my day. So cool. Great product. Fits snug just like it should. I am one happy camper.

They light up with white - just as if they're all backlit. They only light up during usage, and the F and J keys both have small bumps on them, just like a regular keyboard, to help you set your fingers. If you look at the picture that G-Bull posted, just imagine if someone held up a bright flashlight behind all the keys.

You can easily see what you're typing during both light and dark conditions.

As dboss says, it does add some weight to the controller, but it's balanced well. It also fits very snugly, there is no way it can budge due to the fact that it has two "nodules" that almost snap into the base of your controller.

I'm glad I picked it up, the headset seems to be a little bit nicer than my launch day headest, and being able to change the volume is nice.

I've had one of these for a couple of weeks now myself, and I like it a lot. I do not care for the headset with the inline module to mute and adjust volume, so I don't have the messenger kit attached to the controller at all times. It's just too natural to have the mute button right at my thumbs....I don't like having to reach up away from the controller to mute, because I use it quite often online, like when the dogs start barking or something.
