I was just at Best Buy and noticed Stranglehold just came out today. It looks like a really good game and was wondering if anyone has it yet?

Yeah, I finished it.

It's a pretty short game. I was able to finish it in about 6-7 hours. It does one thing really well, which is slick action, but that's about it. The multiplayer is interesting, but you probably won't play it more than once or twice. The game is really fun, but paying full price for a 6-7 hour game is hard to recommend. This game makes the perfect weekend rental, or bargain bin find, but probably not worth 60 bucks.

There are a lot of mindless shooters on the market, but none of them immerse you in John Woo's world. And that's where Stranglehold stands out. This is the true sequel to Hard Boiled, which means Stranglehold is more about style than substance. So, not surprisingly, the story is melodramatic and forgettable and the adrenaline-pumping action is the star of the show. Stranglehold could use two more chapters and a little more visual polish, but it is an otherwise exhilarating experience. There are plenty of "Oh my God" moments and just enough challenge to sustain anyone's interest from start to finish.

If anyone has purchased the full version of this game, is there a button push to make the camera reset? I liked the demo, but panning back to face the front took awhile with the right stick.

There did not seem to be.

I picked the game up on sale from Circuit City. I played through the tutorial level and a little bit of the second level. The game is a lot of fun and the action gets really frantic. I love the level of destruction in the game. The shootout in the teahouse at the end of the tutorial felt like the lobby-scene in Matrix!

For the length of the game, it probably works better as a rental. I found it at a good price and I take a while to finish my games, so I thought it was worth the purchase.

With all the great games coming out this fall, my wallet is really going to take a beating!

I thought the MP would be the bigger draw of this game, the clip at the end of the demo looked pretty awesome. Any other comments on MP?

*Not bad. It looks fun. You don't have to buy it, just rent it and enjoy.*
