I am thinking about getting a Dolphin waterproof remote and was wondering if anyone here has had any exprience with this unit?

unfortunately not. are you looking at this as a stand alone controller or part of a larger control system. If you're looking at a larger control system you should talk to your installer about the waterproof remotes from RTI. They just announced a U2 that looks awesome and RTI is known for great controllers.
