Does anyone have a ballpark as to when D* started using HDLite to cut resolution in their signals? It seems to me that about 3 1/2 years ago when I first got my HD plasma the picture, especially on HDNet and the first class channels, was a lot better than what I see now. I have been blaming my set.
Thanks,
Bill

SD-lite, too.
There was a time when many of the SD channels looked nearly as good as the HD-lite ones do now.

It was about the time they started adding a bunch of local channels in SD. Before that, they offered HBO and a few other HD channels that looked really good.
Once they couldn't offer distant market affiliates to anyone who asked, they had no choice bet to start doing LIL to compete with cable.
