I used to be a big 2K fan but I kind of lost my love for the series. I never liked the NBA Live series because of the floatyness of the players--I'll check it out though. T23 09-06-07, 12:11 PM Hope this is better than last year. Not a big fan of 2k basketball, college or NBA. Anyone know if there will be a March madness this year? Van Smack 09-06-07, 12:26 PM The videos for this have looked great. I'll d/l tonight. I had 2k7 but may give Live a shot this year. dragonyeuw 09-06-07, 03:25 PM Live always beats 2K7 in features, but it's the gameplay that trails far behind.Hope this year they close the gap.....I'm looking forward to the FIBA World Championship mode with the authentic international teams and of course Team USA. vondozier 09-06-07, 04:34 PM Just got done playing the demo, and I have to say Live has definitely improved big time. 06 and 07 were around two of the worst sports games on the 360. They stepped it up on 08. Very smooth, no more crazy clipping or awkward animations. Although, it still feels like an arcade to 2k's sim. I prefer the 2k series, but Live is finally going in the right direction after all these terrible years. snobgoblin 09-06-07, 05:06 PM I'm a big 2k fan and i must say that live has stepped up this year. I still wont buy it because I'm a master a 2k7 controls and dont feel like learning live controls. My mind keeps wanting to shoot with the analog stick in live and i keep doing ally oops with the Right button instead of direct passing. The graphics are looking pretty good also. I think just one more year and we will have a real battle on our hands. LAKE4742 09-07-07, 12:07 AM The basketball battle begins...but still not really. My first impression: This is great! But, I still like the 06 player models better. The 07 models went cartoony, same with this year, but they do look good (especially at certain angles). The gameplay: yes, much improved! But, I still like the dribbling mechanics (and the net) from 06 (play the demo or game if you've forgotten and let me know if you agree or not). As I said about MADDEN, instead of making the good great, EA makes some changes that shouldn't be touched. But, If LIVE is this good, I can only imagine what the third year on this system will be bring us from 2...K...SPORTS!!!!!!!!!!! 2K, 2K, 2K, 2K, 2K, 2K, 2K... yeah, I'm a fan, aren't you?!!!!! :p dragonyeuw 09-07-07, 06:24 AM I played it,wasn't overly impressed. It's a step in the right direction, but I don't think it's even better than NBA 2k7 last year, and I'd expect 2K8 to improve across the board.EA thinks adding feature after feature will cover up gameplay issues, but the gameplay is definitely where it's at,and that's where 2k has been outperforming them year after year. |
