I am new to this, so forgive my being obtuse in advance. I'm trying to adjust the settings (Picture) on our television, but certain options are grayed out.

Color Matrix: SD (under picture/other adjustments)...this option is grayed out. I have looked throughout the menus and cannot find anything that will allow me to "un-gray" this option.

We have a BD player with HDMI connected to HDMI1...and, at times, I have seen this "Color Matrix" actually showing HD, but still grayed out.

Can anyone help me with this?

I still have the issue with HD/SD grayed out. But also, when using HDMI the picture is much darker than with component. Any ideas?

You can't change the color matrix. When you are displaying HD content the tv automatically applies the HD color matrix. When you are displaying SD signals the tv changes the color matrix to "SD".

Why, for example, when playing a blu-ray movie does it still show SD with an HDMI connection? If I switch back to component video and play the same movie, it shows HD. Settings somewhere for HDMI wrong? But where? Bad cable? I'm lost.
