Sorry folks, didn't know the right place to post this.

I am trying to establish an HDMI run of about 15ft from my BLu-ray player to my plasma. The cable will run through the attic - but not in-wall.

Is thier $7.00 15ft cable going to work at that length?

For longer runs you want thicker cable, which would mean a lower guage (AWG) wire as that will help preserve the signal. Since it's going through the attic, I believe that's still considered in-wall, so I would recommened getting the CL-2 rated cables.

You might want to check the HDMI forum. This is the plasma forum

Posted there as well. But I need to make up my mind in the next hour and it doesn't appear folks post there as frequently.

I was told that up to 15ft I could get away with the 28AWG, but I was really concerned with going through attic heat.

Sounds like I need a CL2 rated cable.

Is this something that could be changed out fairly easily? If so, then I would suggest going ahead and getting it and trying it out. I see that their better cable is not in stock at the time and is $22.00. If you decide to upgrade to the better cable you could probably recoup most if not all of your money from selling the other one on craigslist.

I would buy it and give it a try. I know Impact Acoustics cables have no problems at 15ft but they retail at $49
