Sorry for the double post (posted in plasmas as I wasn't sure the right place for this)..
I am trying to establish a 15ft HDMI run from my blu-ray player to my plasma through attic space (not in-wall). Is their cheapo $7 cable sufficient? Anyone have any bad luck with this length at this price?
Thanks all

It should work fine. I have used many Monoprice cables including this one. It is a great cable at a good price.

Someone suggested that the attic would require a CL2 rated cable. You don't think I need that version?

For what it's worth I got the 18ft. premium hdmi-dvi cable and it works great.

I've used the monoprice 28AWG HDMI cable (the cheapest I think) and it works just fine without any sparkles or any other problems.

The CL2 version is only needed if your electrical code requires it. Since the cable is only carrying very low voltage it really should not be a problem. You may, however, want to spend the few extra dollars to be sure that you follow the codes in your area.
