I was talking to a few friends the other day about HD DVD-Blu-ray. Someone mentioned that they would like to get a Xbox 360 HD-DVD just because of the HD-DVD player...another friend spoke up to say that,he knows a guy who repairs Xbox 360's amongst other consumer electronics. My friend was told by this guy that the Xbox 360 has a high burnout rate due to ppl using as a movie player. Has anyone know of, or had this experience?

Not true. The optical drive of the Xbox 360 is not USED when the external Add-On is playing an HD DVD. So the burnout is very low. On the PS3 is the opposite: you play games for hours and on the very same optical drive that you use to play the Blu-Ray discs, so the burnout is very high.

Such search the internet for Xbox 360 and key words like "ring of death", "coffin box" or "heat" issues will answer your questions. :)

or just look a little higher in the forum to see the PS3 burnout thread and realize why this thread was started....

Just when you thought the maturity level couldn't dip anymore than it has recently.
Well the 360 itself burns quite often with the red ring of death...
HaHa....great post why didn't I think of it!
