View Full Version : Extended Warranty? Mack or Repair Master?? apace 09-06-07, 04:33 PM Anyone have experience with either Mack or Repair Master Warranty? Thanks RomanInvision 09-06-07, 04:38 PM Good companies also it is a good idea to check with the vendor you bought your Plasma from as you want a backup option in case the warranty company doesn't come step up. creemail 09-06-07, 08:48 PM Also check out CPS...! Mack and CPS are very similar in coverages... Chris tflanag1 09-08-07, 03:52 PM Typically, what kind of coverage do these warranties provide? I was offered a full coverage warranty from Sears (where I bought my plasma today) in which they will repair the TV if a power surge destroys the TV or a pixel goes out. But what is covered by a Mack/CPS warranty? wolfgaze 09-08-07, 04:13 PM I'm going to be buying the 3 year Mack warranty when I get my TV in November... They are based out of NJ and I'm in NJ... Their warranty is in-home service (covers parts & labor) but when I emailed them they said if my TV needed to be taken for Service they would come pick it up free of charge and take it to their repair facility in Springfield, NJ which is about 25 min from me... Of course I have no prior experience with extended warranties but the price and details seem right given the circumstances. creemail 09-08-07, 04:28 PM Typically, what kind of coverage do these warranties provide? But what is covered by a Mack/CPS warranty? 1. Provides coverage for up to 2,3 or 5-Years on most products. Warranties Start after manufacturer's 1 or 2 year parts and labor warranty. 2. Fully Insured for Parts and Labor 3. Toll Free 800 Numbers: 7 Days a week Hours a day for questions regarding your service plan or if your product needs repair. 4. Communicate, real-time with a customer service representatives. 5. Nationwide Service Network 6. Repair or Replace Promise: In the event that a Product cannot be repaired, it will replaced. 7. No Deductibles or Hidden Charges These are general, but give you an idea. They will provide similar coverages to your B&M stores... Chris optivity 09-08-07, 05:32 PM Good Picture Quality Attributes 1. High Quality Source (Most Important) 2. Contrast Ratio 3. Color Saturation 4. Color Accuracy 5. Resolution (Least Important)Chris, do you own a 1080p PDP? I'm not sure if it's the 60" screen, better video processing capabilities or native resolution; but my 150FD renders a picture that is vastly superior as compared to my two-year-old & somewhat obsolete 50PX50U. While the ranked order of each video attribute in your signature makes perfect sense, these characteristics all work together to render the total image and if any one of them are sub-par the end result will be poorer picture quality. As with the old 480p versus 720p native resolution debates of prior years... I hesitate to discount the impact that full HD w/PDP has on the viewer's perceptions. DTV TiVo Dealer 09-08-07, 05:34 PM I've used Mack for many years and like the company and their staff very much. Very accommodating folks. Go to www.mackcam.com to see their offerings. 0Robert creemail 09-08-07, 07:48 PM Chris, do you own a 1080p PDP? I currently have the 42PX60U. I within the next few months I plan on getting: (2) 42PZ77U's for my loft with articulating mounts (1) 5080HD, 6070HD, or 58PH10UK for my living room with articulating mount (1) place the 42PX60U in my bedroom with articulating mount This my current situation...I will let you guys know Now as far as my sig, everything holds true to maintain a great picture. However, if you left off resolution the picture would still look good. Again it goes back to the source as being the most important aspect of picture quality. Garbage in, means garbage out as far as SD quality. Chris Cleveland Plasma 09-08-07, 08:53 PM Two points I always bring up: Mack Camera has been in business since 1938 but only offers a total of 4 years of coverage. RepairTech has been in business since 2000 and offers a total of 6 years of coverage. creemail 09-08-07, 08:57 PM Two points I always bring up: Mack Camera has been in business since 1938 but only offers a total of 4 years of coverage. RepairTech has been in business since 2000 and offers a total of 6 years of coverage. Repairmaster's coverage starts at the date of purchase, which would only lend up to 5 years total. The benefit of Repairmaster is that you can purchase within the first 9 months of your television's warranty. CPS offers a total of 6 years, in which the warranty starts after the 1 year part and labor warranty. Also it is slightly cheaper too! Chris Cleveland Plasma 09-08-07, 09:05 PM AH, reread what I posted!! I said "RepairTech" Not repairmaster. Two different companies. RepairMaster is out of the plasma warranty game as they are way overpriced. RepairMaster total of 5 years of coverage. Chris tridentnyc 09-09-07, 11:48 PM Chris or Chris, Hey the other day I was in CC talking to a rep about their warrnty coverage. This guy, a manager, swore up and down that CC's $299 extended warranty would cover burn in should it occur. I found this very hard to believe and told him so. Have either of you guys heard of this before, or was this guy totally scamming me? Thanks, Rob |
