I've been a DirecTV subscriber for 10 years now. My receiver is a RCA DTC100 and we have a triple lnb dish. I do not currently subscribe to the DirecTv HD package because we've been able to get network HD signals OTA and because there haven't been a lot of channels included in the hd package.

Now I'm reading that soon DirecTV will be bringing a whole slew of HD channels online with new sats that are up or going up. Will I need a new HD receiver if I want to get the hd package or will my trusty DTC100? Is there any other reason I'd want to retire the dtc100?

Thanks for the help!

You need to upgrade your dish to a 5 LNB unit, upgrade the receiver to an H20, and of course add the HD package. Plenty of info posted here on the MPEG4 upgrade, the search option should turn up lots of info.

..I just got updated with new slimline dish and new HD DVR and install for a total of $20. Being a customer for many years, you should be able to do the same. Just be persisant and a good deal will come your way.
