They are known to be nearly identical pieces of hardware, so I would expect that both of these features are the same on the 722.

When was the last time you checked your audio on the 622? This was supposedly fixed in a recent software update.

I have a 622 hooked up to my Onkyo 905 and have no problem with video and audio over HDMI.

The Dolby 5.1 over HDMI issue was fixed back in March or April via firmware update. No problems now with either of my 622's.

Check your HDMI cable. I had a similar issue with my 622 and it turn out to be a bad cable.
