I like this movie too, but I am going to rent it first to see how they did with the transfer.

Someone (Alan?) already has a copy and says the transfer looks good. As long as you aren't expecting it to look like a 2007 release (especially given the primative state of CGI back in 1984), I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I've been meaning to pick this movie up on SD for years but just haven't done so. It was on TV a few weeks ago and made me want to buy it. Now that it is coming out on HD DVD...well...I just placed my Amazon preorder.

I liked this as a kid, but I saw it recently on HDNet (I think), and it didn't hold up for me at all. I normally go for movies like this, but I'll have to pass on this one, no matter how good a transfer it might be.

Looking forward to this release. Never seen it so it will be a blind buy for me.
