That's $15 off of retail I think.

Good price, but I really want to see how the GunCon3 actually performs before jumping in. If the sensors function like the Wiimote where it's more like a mouse, then no thanks. If it actually performs like the previous GunCons, then I'm in. I want to actually use the sights on the GunCon to aim...

Don't gun games have problems with certain kinds of TVs? I had heard that somewhere, not sure if its true or not.

I remember playing Time Crisis 2 on PS2. Was pretty fun, but the gun they gave you was a total piece of s***. Man, my brother and I had that thing duct taped up the ying-yang, hahaa. Still worked every once in a while too, lol

whats wrong with the wii mote sensors? i fine it to be acurate and i can shot any point (including corners) of the screen. I would think of it as a mouse when in theory, light sensor is doing the same exact thing...

Rather than having the GunCon take a snapshot of the screen, the GunCon 3 setup utilizes two sensors that you place atop your display and the gun then reads them to know where it's pointing.

Sounds like it may be accurate, a la Wii sensor bar style.

- I don't have a problem with the accuracy, but I'm looking for a point and shoot experience. The Wii is fun for what it is, but I'm not looking forward to a mouse style Time Crisis, which simply would make it a FPS to me. I also don't want to be looking a cursor the entire time I'm playing.

I'm also a big fan of playing with dual lightguns and the Wiimote experience is definitely not geared for that type of play.

tokerblue: I think I understand what you are saying. You do not want to play the game like other Wii games with a cross hair always being displayed on the screen where you are aiming. I am with you, I want no cross hair displayed just a realistic arcade feel like we got in previous Time Crisis games. The game is being developed by Namco and I do not believe they would change up the gameplay to much.

I am looking forward to this release. I have always enjoyed all of the Guncon games and this one should be no different. I am glad they now have a setup that is comparable with all television types. One of the things I lost when I went HD was my light gun games. It was a sad day for Silent Scope and my Konami light rifle.

- That's exactly what I am saying. I've owned or played virtually every light gun game ever made and I'd hate to see them go away simply because of HDTV's.

One of the things I lost when I went HD was my light gun games. It was a sad day for Silent Scope and my Konami light rifle.
- I still have my older Sony CRT for all my newer light gun games. HotD2, Confidential Mission, Virtua Cop 2 on DC. Time Crisis series, Vampire Night and Ninja assault on PS2. HotD3 on Xbox, etc.

I don't trust Fry's pre-orders. They occasionally put up good deals, like Grand-Theft Auto 4 for $49.99 and then cancel it for no apparent reason.

Just realized this was a Fry's preorder, my 2 cents on the Fry's preorders.

I pre-ordered 300 on Blu-ray for $9.99 from Fry's online only to have it canceled. Yes I know it was a great deal but it still blows.

fry's shipping is rediculous.

This is a game I'm looking forward to. I want to see what they did with the first person shooter aspect (using the thumbstick to move & look around & the gun to aim and shoot). If this concept works well, I want to see other shooters start to use this.

I don't fully understand how the technology works so I'll just ask... This can't work with a projector can it?

^^

The way I understand it is that you place sensors on the corners of your tv, wall, whatever you're using as a display. The gun detects the locations of these sensors, so you can use any size set or any type of display to play. Not sure if my understanding is correct though.

Yes you can use it with a projector. I am making this purchase for myself for that very reason.
