This has happened quite a few times to me now. If I quit a PS2 game and leave the disc in, it'll sometimes freeze on on a black screen the next time I start the PS2 game, even before the Playstation 2 logo. I can eject the disc by pressing the button on the console but nothing else responds and I ended up restarting using the switch on the back of the console. Has anyone seen this? It's happened on at least 2 game discs and they're in excellent condition. I'm thinking about swapping for another one.

I've never had freezes, but I've only tried one or two PS2 games so far. I did try Jak racing; and had an issue with saves. Seems like sometimes it would save on the fake slot 1 that it created on the HDD and other times it would act like it was saving foreever (till I gave up) and never actually save.

I've been playing both MGS2 and MGS3 with no problems whatsoever(except for the lack of rumble).

I don't know anything that might be causing your problems, but I hope you find out and get it fixed.
