Hey Guys,

While I have ordered numerous HD DVD's from amazon, I have yet to preorder a disc.

I am wondering if I select the free shipping for the Transformers preorder, could I expect that to arrive the day of or close to the actual street date?
Just curious since most discs I've ordered have taken up to a week, and I needs my Autobots ASAP.

I don't think they ship it till the actual street date. So no, you wont get it the day it's released.

I think amazon's first shipment is sold out too, because people are getting emails (me included) that the ship date has changed to Oct. 25th.

They usually ship it a few days (or a day) before street to allow for some shipping.

For transformers, I'm going to spend a little more and get it from one of the vendors that seem to send things way before street date to hopefully get it early.

From my experience, for the free shipping they ship a few days after release date. If you have Amazon prime, then they ship on release date or the day before.

I had a pre-ordered heroes prior to signing up for prime and it was scheduled to ship 3 or 4 days after release, when I changed the shipping to 2 day because I had prime, the scheduled ship date changed to release day.

With Prime they ship my preorders the day before release date and I receive them the day after release date, thus on Wednesdays. I'm not complaining about them being a day late at all because I usually don't have a chance to watch the discs until the weekend anyway.

I used the super saver option a few times and they always shipped a few days after the release date.

I've used the super saver shipping and received pre-orders a couple days after release, usually the Thursday or Friday after. I have so many Amazon gift cards, I can wait the couple extra days. Unless, of course, WorstBuy or Circuit****** have some sort of promo which comes in cheaper than Amazon, which they may very well have for this movie!

If Amazon delay the shipment date probably I will buy in other store!!!!

If you dont mind paying a few $$ extra you can have it early, order it from www.dvdpacific.com the preorder is not up yet but should be this week..

My last two pre-orders arrived on the release day (Heroes season 1, Blades of Glory). I use Amazon prime and 2-day shipping. Once in awhile they arrive on wednesday.

I have Prime and get every disk on release day. They typically ship Monday and I have it Tuesday. It is VERY rare that a disk takes 2 days to reach me.

99% of the time, if a movie is released on a Tuesday then my preorder ships on Monday and arrives on Wednesday.

If I pay the extra money for overnight shipping on a preorder, they still ship it Monday via ground and it arrives Wednesday. I don't live far enough away from the shipping hub for them to actually use expedited shipping--I am so close that regular ground still gets it to me in two days and that's all they ever use. However, I must live just far enough away that it doesn't get to me the next day after shipment like many others. The worst of both worlds.
