swifty7 09-10-07, 12:22 AM thanks for the heads up!!!!
I just canceled my Amazon Blade Runner complete 5 disc edition order for the Warner one which is an additional saving of $7.
I also ordered:
A Clockwork Orange Special Edition (BD)
The Last Samurai (BD)
Blade Runner Complete 4 disc edition (DVD) Gift for a friend
I just love these Warner promo's.
tdavis21484 09-10-07, 01:07 AM I had a very bad experience on my first attempt at purchasing from WHV - Troy was unavailable, and was cancelled from my order. However, they canceled my entire order by accident, and I was never informed.
18 days later, nothing had shipped, so I emailed to complain. I got basically no response, so I didn't re-place the order and ordered from Deep Discount DVD instead.
swifty7 09-10-07, 03:17 AM my experience has been good so far, no cancellation of any kind.
CPR Jose Ortiz 09-10-07, 03:32 AM The huge shipping charge of $7.95 brought Smallville back up to what I would pay at Amazon. Not good.

clear31 09-10-07, 11:24 AM the deal is great for people who didnt get in on the amazon 10 percent or dont have to pay tax. i ordered a few movies but being in ny i have to pay a tax that makes this deal just about equal to the amazon deal :(

Actually, I missed out on the Amazon 'buy 2 get 1 free' deal and that ticked me off, so now I'm jumping on this right now.

David Susilo 09-10-07, 10:08 PM I'm asking again. Are Canadians still NOT included by the WB store?
do they charge for preoders now or when they ship ?
Bailey151 09-11-07, 11:04 AM do they charge for preoders now or when they ship ?
They do the initial charge (hold) for the total order amount. The hold goes off in a couple/few days. They charge for each item when they ship. I.E. a 14.97 movie will get charged when shipped, remainder of order charges as shipped. You only get charged for the total order shipping (free over $50). They do no charge for shipping on each movie, even if they fill the order one at a time.
TokyoShoe 09-11-07, 11:53 AM I'm asking again. Are Canadians still NOT included by the WB store?
It doesn't say on the website one way or another. I'd say just email them at the WB Store, or check the website yourself?
TrevorS 09-11-07, 04:35 PM Warning folks!
One of the titles in the Warner HD DVD shop is "Mutiny On The Bounty (1935)". That is a superlative film and I placed an order including it (thinking it to be a pre-order). Later, when I received my email acknowledgement, I realized the 1935 had changed to 1962 (the familiar Marlon Brando film), not at all what I had in mind. Naturally, I immediately took steps to cancel my order.
So if you notice the 1935 version of "Mutiny On The Bounty" in their online catalog, don't bother with trying to order it -- at least not yet. You'll receive the newer one instead!
Ironhorse75 09-12-07, 12:17 AM Does anybody know how WB handles their orders consisting of pre-orders with different release dates? Do they hold and ship as one or ship as they're released?
Does anybody know how WB handles their orders consisting of pre-orders with different release dates? Do they hold and ship as one or ship as they're released?
The ship as they become available..That is in mos cases I think I remember before that there were a few people that had them ship all at the same time, but for the most part it is as they become available...There is no extra charge of course if they ship separately.
sharkcohen 09-12-07, 12:25 AM Oh crap, not another Warner discount. Just what I need to do, spend more monies!

Strange....They have 2 versions of the film on the DVD site the 1935 (HD DVD and DVD, then the 1962 DVD only)....
Checked the link (Info) button and the Description says its the 1962 version.

Yes this is a store policy:

Same here - when I visit the main page HERE (http://www.warnervideo.com/warner_bros_hi_definition/us/html/titles.html) and hit HD DVD, I get an error with with every single title listed, even stuff thats been out for ages...they must really be re-tooling, but why not throw a message up at least and tell folks to check back when things are running proper?!

Yeah, this kind of worries me. I've been compiling a list of titles I want to order on HD-DVD from this storefront. Now I wonder if my order will go through properly, or what stuff I can actually order!
replayrob 09-12-07, 01:01 PM Tried to pre-order 2001, and here's what I get too:
"Problem with your purchase

That issue aside, PITA site to navigate- how about just a plain old list of titles with links? I guess that's too easy...
HP for $18 is a good deal, but I know the Free Shipping at $50 would make me purchase more titles and I don't think there is anything left in the Warner catalog that I want but don't already have. :)
In other words, i'm okay with the site being down. :)

Suggest you try again. This time if multiple choices of the same title appear, try them all. If this doesn"t work hit the disc info button on the lower right hand side of each selection and when the page appears order from that page. Try it!

Ok, it worked for 2001, but can't get "Dirty Harry" into cart either way- and there's only on choice for the item?

The website says absolutely nothing. However, after going through THE ENTIRE ordering process (including registration and all that BS), the store then told me that they can't take Canadian orders.
Why the hell they don't tell me that during registration process?

LiquidX 09-12-07, 10:10 PM Warner's shipping is awful. Been stuck at "In Process" for the last 2 days and I took a look at the BD section's Warner thread and some there have been stuck in processing much longer.

I can't seem to find any of the titles that were there a couple days ago...no Oceans, no Potter. Hmmm....
I think they are still messing with the database, which is the reason for Harry Potter not showing up via search (not even for DVD). Ocean's needs to be searched for via the word "Ocean's" otherwise it will not show up for either format. I guess the best thing to do is keep checking and you may get lucky if you order right away.
I can't seem to find any of the titles that were there a couple days ago...no Oceans, no Potter. Hmmm....
It really weird that they have seemed to remove Harry Potter (all versions) from the website. I have done a search for Harry Potter, Potter, and Harry all with no returns. I think they just removed everything when the error was found.

I think the Potters were removed because the pre-order date on them is later on. I know the official pre-sell date on the 5th one is not until November. You may recall the same thing happened with 300. They listed it on their site breifly, then removed until until the pre-sell offical date.
Captain Spaulding 09-14-07, 01:18 PM I know that Warner is keeping an eye on HD media sales. Will I make more of an impact if I order my HD DVD discs from their web site or will they get the same feedback if I order via Amazon?

I would agree with you except they removed the SD versions as well  ;) I pretty much know why they removed it :) I was just surprised they removed ALL of HP (including SD) from the site.

No where does it show the STATE of my order, if it's shipped or even been PROCESSED yet.

If you click the link of the order number you want to check on it should open to a screen with this info:
If you look unders "status" it shows your order "state", "in process" is that it is being processed it will then go to shipped, backorder, cancled ect... Yes I made a mistake should be myexpresscheckout no mycheckout. :)

clear31 09-17-07, 06:22 AM Question does warner ship out items as they arrive or what? I ordered on the same order we are marshall , troy directors cut and blade runner. brian32672 09-17-07, 06:37 AM That was a question I had, prior to my purchase.
It was indicated on the buy screen, that the items available will ship right away, (pre-orders will ship as soon as available)
Hope that answers your question.:)
brian32672 09-17-07, 06:47 AM DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO CHECK YOUR ORDER / SHIPPING STATUS?
Although Ph8te described how to check, here is the exact FAQ from Warner.
Order Status
If you have set up a MyExpressCheckout account, you can check your order status by logging in at www.myexpresscheckout.com. You can also send us an email at whvcustserv@emsi.echomail.com. or call us at (888) 407-4466 between the hours of 8:00 AM and Midnight Monday through Friday and Saturday from 8:30am to 7:00pm, Eastern Standard Time (except holidays).

FWIW, I ordered 4 already released movies and none of them shipped in a week. I just canceled the entire order a few minutes ago with zero apology or explanation for the delay in shipping from the rep at Warner.
Not worth waiting 3+ weeks for a $20 discount to me.
OggideM 09-17-07, 02:39 PM ugh, troy DC not shipped yet. ...
Sporadic 09-17-07, 02:47 PM ugh, troy DC not shipped yet. ...
Same with my Best Of HD-DVD, Vol 3 set.
Hopefully they are just running behind after the site being shut down for a month.
Maestro J 09-17-07, 03:12 PM I think Troy: DC is delayed. There have been rumors going around for a few days now and Netflix does not list it among new releases this week. So this along with the fact nobody has received confirmation of shipping make me think it is definitely delayed.
SugarBowl 09-17-07, 03:15 PM none of mine have shipped, been a week.
JR Bryce 09-17-07, 03:34 PM My Smallville pre-order hasnt shipped yet, and it's supposed to be released tomorrow.
TokyoShoe 09-17-07, 10:33 PM I ordered my stuff over a week ago. Order waaay over $50, so I get free shipping. Plus I paid the extra $10 for "Rush Order". I figured this was the "Rush Processing" feature offered on most other online shops. Well apparently it's not. My order's been setting in "In Process" for more than a week, and I've emailed Warner Home Video three times. I have to say, after this order I severely doubt I'll be ordering from them ever again.
And yes, all the stuff I ordered had already been released, none of them are pre-orders on upcoming new releases.
LiquidX 09-17-07, 10:40 PM I tried emailing them, it's truly worthless. Call them instead, I had a rep on the line within a minute... but it takes them literally 10 minutes to 'cancel' it via phone... but wait, technically my order is still not canceled, I must wait until I receive email confirmation before I can consider it canceled. As of 2pm on Monday, still no confirmation.
Kocheese99 09-18-07, 12:37 AM Yea i'm calling on wednesday if i don't see anything by then. It would have been two weeks since I placed my order and not only have some been released but some were cataloge as well. I called last week and they told me it could take up to 5-7 business for it to ship. I don't mind waiting some but two weeks and its not even shipped?! And we're ordering it FROM WARNER BROS! How can they not ship out our orders in a timely manner when a dozen copies are just sitting on the shelves in the stores for two weeks.
TokyoShoe 09-18-07, 04:02 PM I called today, told them that I put in an order 5 business days ago ... paid for "Rush Order" and it still hasn't shipped. Well I made an interesting discovery. If you pay for the "Rush" extra, they print out a shipping label for your shipment immediately. This sounds like a good idea, right?
It's not. If your order has a shipping label printed out for it already, it's impossible for them to cancel it. They don't allow it. If you pay for "RUSH ORDER" , you are almost immediatley guaranteed not to be able to cancel your order.
I am stuck waiting for my order to ship, and they cannot even give an ETA on when that will happen. Their website also states that RUSH Shipping is 2 day shipping, but the Customer Service number states it is actually 3 to 5 business days shipping. Over all I must say I am VERY underwhelmed with Warner Home Video and online purchasing through them.
clear31 09-18-07, 05:26 PM i refuse to ever order from warner again. its my fault for just trying to save a few dollars compared to amazon who has always been great for me. I wanted troy and we are marshall. Ordered them because I heard of warner shipping titles early and now I am simply waiting for warner to confirm with their warehouse that my items can be canceled. Its ridiculous that I cant cancel the order. They wont even let me cancel blade runner because its on the same order
louigi222 09-18-07, 07:56 PM Man...the tone of this thread has quickly changed from LOOK...HOW MUCH MONEY I SAVED to BITCH,BITCH,BITCH!!! I just came back from BestBuy and compared one of the titles I bought from Warners to what I would have paid for this same title at Bestbuy and I saved $11 and this was just one title...I ordered six! I have confidence that ALL my HD-DVDs that I ordered will be delivered in a timely fashion and I did save quite a bit of money.
brian32672 09-18-07, 08:08 PM Yeah, I am a fairly patient person. So, I am not worried.
As well, I saved something like $52.00
As long as I get it within 2-3 weeks I am ok with that.
Heck, it is not like I have nothing to watch, with 1000+ DVDs, a Blockbuster account, a Netflix account, and the library.
I just preordered Harry Potter HD DVD 88 dollars with coupon!
cnikirk 09-18-07, 09:12 PM I still don't see the Ocean's titles.
MattGuyOR 09-18-07, 10:31 PM Got the Harry Potter set here too, 83.21 was my total, it's 149.99 retail! Thank you, Warner! Thank you, Oregon (no sales tax)! :)
Big Worms 09-18-07, 10:45 PM I don't know what happened to Warner store, but they are not shipping anything. I am still waiting for part of my order that came out 2 weeks ago. This week now I have Troy and nothing. I am done ordering from them. Good prices but not worth it if you never know when you are going to get your items.
TokyoShoe 09-19-07, 01:29 PM Trust me, I'm super happy that I can save so much money from the Warner Home Video store. However, I would eventually like to receive my purchased videos.
At present the Customer Service Reps are stating that the warehouse isn't shipping ANYTHING out, and they won't actually say why (most likely because they don't know). I've asked if they could refund my $10 for the "Rush Shipping" part, since it's kind of moot after having to wait more than a week to get the order. They state that once your shipping invoice and labels are printed at the warehouse, the order cannot be changed or refunded.
Yes I'm happy with saving money. No I am not happy with deceptive business practices.
brian32672 10-03-07, 11:43 PM Yeah, I am a fairly patient person. So, I am not worried.
As well, I saved something like $52.00
As long as I get it within 2-3 weeks I am ok with that.
Heck, it is not like I have nothing to watch, with 1000+ DVDs, a Blockbuster account, a Netflix account, and the library.
Whew, that was a wait.
They are SLOW to respond to emails, heck I still have not got a response from my Q.
But, they did send an email stating (all in stock items) were shipped standard.
(2 items not shipped, were pre-orders)
And checking the shipping # they gave me, states it is next day air????
Anyhow, this is, what is listed at UPS.

At least it looks like they are starting to ship their products now :) ..... Patience is always key I still cant believe people were canceling pre orders that were not going to be released until next month(or later) because of this. I can see why people were upset about past orders and in stock new items, but pre orders just cant see it.
Yeah, I just got a notification Email saying Beerfest shipped (ordered on 9/24). To my surprised, they shipped it overnight. Still waiting on Troy DC, Galapagos, and rest of the pre-orders though. I wonder if they'll ship the rest overnight...
I had them cancel two orders two days ago and received a 30 days until shipment notice and now just got a shipping confirmation for the one order I cancelled.
Warner needs to straighten this stuff out. Ridiculous.
CS and Warehouse NOT communicating = TROUBLE

Sis you do it by phone or email? The email system is notoriously slow, and if you ordered Rush Shipping there is no way to cancel it (until you refuse shipping). From what I have been reading if you call late (within an hour or 2 of closing) that it is much easier to cancel your order by phone and it goes much quicker.
For the amount of money I saved I am not complaining as I have ordered with WB in the past and when I had a title missing they shipped a new one right away no questions asked.

It was done by phone and it was standard FREE shipping. The order apparently shipped a day before I called, but THEY WEREN'T AWARE OF THIS (RIDICULOUS), nor did it say so on their web site until just now (MORE RIDICULOUS)...
Now I'm wondering if my Blade Runner Pre-order is still going to arrive in December?

Thats weird as usually the site is first to show that your order shipped. I think the cobwebs are still slowly coming off from the prior "update" that they had that really FUBARd everything.
faux123 10-04-07, 04:49 AM I have 24 titles outstanding from WHV. Some of my orders were made more than a month ago and I still have not received anything except an email explaining that they are experiencing delays. I am still patiently waiting. The amount of dough saved from the promotions out weighs instant gratification :)

Mine are about the hit the 3 week mark with no email (only the email to say my address did not match the banks but that should be ok now). Last I spoke to them was last week and they told me that the warehouse has printed the shipping label. Encouraging. I only ordered six and they are all pre-orders (some Stanley Kubricks, Troy, Alexander and Twister). I think (and hope) they are waiting until Oct 23rd to ship 5 of the 6 to save on shipping costs... Which by now would be ok by me but at least give me the option. Geez...

I have quite a few titles I'm waiting for also. I ordered some things with different release dates. So I'm wondering if they are starting to ship everything together when they are available or what. I could have sworn I ordered titles with different release dates and they shipped separately before. But I could be wrong. I'm not in any hurry though I have quite a few in the "to be watched" anyway. Good luck everybody
cap_167 10-04-07, 10:07 AM I placed my order on Sept. 11th and then received an email saying that the disc was on back order (Planet Earth) but now it says my order has shipped on the express checkout page. It also gives me around 20 different tracking #'s which is weird dated Oct. 1st. I just hope it means it shipped.:(
Edit: It just arrived today, so it took 3 days from when it said shipped.
jlkeeton 10-04-07, 01:36 PM Just a good update on WHV - my latest order shipped and arrived today. It *just* now says shipped even though it occurred on the 2nd. I guess they're starting to get their stuff together (I hope).
Oddly, I got tracking #'s for about 10 ppl's orders - nothing revealing, though. It just shows the UPS tracking and where it went and not what it was.
*Edit* Order was placed on the 18th of September.
Just checked my status. 2 out of my 6 HD DVDs shipped (300 and Batman Begins). I'm not at home yet but based on the tracking number info, they've arrived. Ordered 9/21 and paid for standard shipping. I also got a bunch of other people's tracking info.
Gary Murrell 10-04-07, 02:49 PM I just got some great customer service from Warner
a few weeks back I ordered Gothika, Wyatt Earp, Wild Bunch and Alexander, this was the day of release on the first 3 titles, I never heard anything and never asked, last night I got a email from them stating they were sorry for the delays and that the titles shipped yesterday, they were here this morning via overnight UPS
not bad for 14$ something each, I love the warner store and the great deals
-Gary
spectator 10-04-07, 02:50 PM Weird. I've received an order and another one appears "shipped" on the site, but they've never sent me any tracking numbers. I wonder if I'll get the tracking email a couple of weeks after all the discs arrive.
brian32672 10-04-07, 05:56 PM So I should see this tomorrow.
Still worth the 50+ I saved.;)
Yep, they got here at 9:30 this morning.
Also have the HP 1-5 set on pre-order. Great price.;)
Lord Flatus 10-04-07, 06:05 PM All mine still say "In Process" on the myexpresswallet site. Only 2 of 5 are Kubrick pre-orders. Maybe 3 of 'em will be at my house when I get home... :)
faux123 10-04-07, 09:12 PM Yes! WHV just shipped 6 of my 24 pre-ordered titles via NEXT DAY AIR shipping yesterday and I am receiving them today! Not bad for being patient with WHV. I think people sometimes just need to sit back and relax a bit :) and enjoy their movies.
Sporadic 10-04-07, 10:39 PM They still haven't mailed my Wild Bunch & Best Of HD-DVD Vol 3 boxset.
The rest of the order is the Kubrick movies and Blade Runner.
