I own the Monoprice HDX-501 HDMI switcher was working fine with samsung DLP, however i just bought a Mit Projector HC1500 and can't get the projector to sync with it keeps telling me there is no signal, however if i connect the equipment straight to projector it works using same cables so i know my cables arent bad. Do I need a special switcher for projectors?

Not familar with the Monoprice switcher but some things you can try if you have not already done so are:
1. Turn the projector off then back on again, while switcher is powered on.
2. Turn off source and projector then bring the components back up by first turning on projector, then switch (if powered on/off), the the source.
3. Lastly if you are using a switch you are using at least two cables. You should verify that BOTH cables are functioning properly, which it sounds like you have already done.

The issue you are more than likely having is a handshake issue, which can be frustrating.
