Do I need some heavy duty surge protector, or anyone will do? Also Do i need something better than a surge protector to protect it from lightning etc or power fluctuations?
Also are these TVs only meant for 120V US connection or are they universal like the Laptop chargers and Phone charger that work in 110-120V and 220-240V?? I am asking because, may be I can be relocated to another country where I would like to take my TV with me, rather than buy another one.
Thanks

Hey. I know on my tv, i invested in a good power conditioner/cleaner that does surge protection, protets from brown outs, etc. Youll spend anywhere from $100+ on one depending on your make and model. I personally own the Monster Power Center 3500, old but excellent protection. It was a great investment as it has already helped during some outtages from lightning in my area. Consult the owner's manual for your TV to whther or not it is supported abroad. If it is not, you can always get those 240v 50hz adapters. Hope this helps.

I plan to purchase a UPS for my DLP. The lamp needs time to be cooled off and a fan spins for a while after power is turned off. If you have a power outage without the UPS, the set will go off and no fan will run to cool the lamp, shortening the lamp life possibly significantly.

Nice choice. I just got the WD 65734. The NetCommand control software is very cool.
Hope you enjoy the TV. Did you get the extended warranty and does it cover the lamp replacements?
