I have a 65" Toshiba rear projection widescreen that is about 6 years old. I have some cobwebs that you can see move around behind the screen. Is there any easy way to get rid of them or do I need to have a tech come out and tear it down to get rid of them? thanks

Depending on the internal layout of your set (6 yrs tells me it's CRT based), you will either need to remove the screen, or at the least, the rear access panel. The screen removal will give you the most access to the optical cavity. Check the threads dealing with your model TV for more info on these procedures.
If either makes you nervous, call a local Tosh tech. Will cost you a house call, but they can get the spiders out AND clean your optics, which if you have not done in 6 yrs....it's WAY overdue. Clean optics (CRT lenses/mirror) will surprise you with how much better everything will look...and what you have been living with over the last few years.

It looks more like the shadow of a cobweb, but I do have spiders so it could be either.

I recently had a dead spider stuck to the inside of my RP CRT, so I removed the screen to remove it. The set is only a year old, and there were also a few cobwebs, dust, and the lenses were pretty dirty so I cleaned them (after vacuuming the entire interior area). On my set (Hitachi 57F59A), removing the screen was simple. You can get service manuals at http://www.servicemanuals.net/ for ~$20 that will show you how to remove the screen.
