Hi guys, I just purchased the KDF50E3000 at Best Buy a few days ago. Then during a random trip to Costco, I run into a Sony HDS55A2020 (Costco model:KDS55AL120). After reading up on a few reviews and doing research on this forum... it looks like the A2020 is last years model, but has great technology with the SXRD (Sony's LcOS version). It has similar functionality with my Bravia E3000, but my question is this:

Which one would you guys go for? Bravia E3000 or the SXRD A2020? I am under the opinion that the SXRD may have better PQ because of the silicone technology... but on the flip side, the new E3000 is running the Bravia engine and I heard many good things about it. Also for $100 more, I can pickup the A2020 which is a 55 inch and has the Costco return policy + tv stand!

Watching the Bears/Chargers on the E3000 I was blown away by the clarity of the picture. Since this is one of Sony's newest rear projection offerings... should I stick with what I have or go the SXRD way?

Thanks in advance!

Btw, here is the deal I got at Best Buy
Sony KDF50E3000 - $1599.99
Sony PS3 (60gig) - $399.99 (discounted $100 off because of Best Buy HD Package deal: any HDTV $999+ will get you $100 off Xbox360, PS3, Audio $599+ or installation service)
- with my reward zone membership, I will get about $40 in Best Buy cash.

Costco Deal
KDS55A2020 - $1699.99
Free stand
Costco extended 2 year warranty

Personally I have compared the A3000, E3000, A2020, And A2000 all side by side in Best Buy. The A3000 is clearly the hands down winner but it isn’t cheap. I was not impressed with the A2020/A2000. It always seemed soft even after playing with the adjustments. However, the E3000 looked pretty good after I did a quick adjustment to the color.

Now everyone will say that the LCOS TVs are better because LCOS is better than LCD. But a lot of people haven’t even seen the E3000 yet. The only way to tell which one is better is to go to the store and adjust both TVs to look as good as they possibly can in the bright light. Then which ever one looks best is probably the one to get if the price is the same.

Thanks for the info mpgxsvcd... I have noticed that on my E3000, SD channels look decent... HD channels are amazing. I will go take a look at the A2020 again and see if SD will look good enough. I think since the E3000 is so new, I can't get much info on it. I agree that LCOS technically should be better, but I think the new E3000 might give it a run for it's money. The A3000 is a lot better, but runs about $500 more.

If anyone else has the E3000 or A2020 please comment on what you like or dislike about the TV.

So I checked out the A3000 and E3000 at BB. Here is my verdict... honestly, I couldn't really tell the difference between the two TVs. I inserted a 300 Blue Ray DVD and tweaked a few settings. On the E3000 it seemed to just tune itself to a great picture with a few clicks. The A3000 needed a bitmore tweaking, but got them pretty much looking the same. Looks like Sony did a great job with the E3000 and with the addition of the 1080p resolution - it is by far better then the E2000 model of last year. I know the A3000 is the better technology... but the extra money doesn't really add any additional PQ in my opinion.

Only thing I can tell from the E3000 is that it only had two HDMI inputs - and I would have loved 3 HDMI so I could hookup the PS3, HD DVR, and my PC, but can't have everything. The PC connection is ok using DVI to HDMI... much better then what I would have expected. Doesn't take up the full screen and that could be bc of my older video card. Overall, if you're looking for a good PQ and 1080p resolution - the new E3000 Bravia could be the best deal for the money in this price range.
