It seems that the UK will be getting this 1 month before the US. Release date is 12th November. It is announced in both HD DVD and BluRay - The HD DVD version being a 2 disc set.

Any word on the gift set being released early in UK?

Not as far as I can see. what is strange is that we already have the goblet of fire on HD but it is still nowhere to be seen in BluRay. Personally, if they were going to make both sides equal, I would have expected them to release 'goblet' on BluRay on or before any subsequent potter releases.

In terms of the gift set, I will probably get the US version in December as no doubt, it will be cheaper than buying the local version over here :)
