Long story short...I need advice on a new DLP set that is not a Samsung.
I've been put through the wringer twice by Samsung on two televisions (HLP46 and an HLS50) by way of a bad DMD board (HLP46) and a cracked mirror (HLS50), neither of which they covered under warranty. I just got off the phone with them regarding the mirror and I am livid and spitting nails...I need a new TV and I like DLP...but not Samsung :(

So...looking for something around 50" and 1080p, any suggestions?

The Mit are very nice tv's, I have the 65734 and 65833 , and am very happy with both, great PQ and color on both, the 833 has 120Hz , very nice for gaming ,but no 50" ,they are 57", 65" and 73"

It's getting increasingly tougher to find rear projection at the smaller sizes; the flat panels are crowding out the 50" segment of the market. Any reason you can't fit the bigger Mits's tlbowerts mentioned? My experience is that bigger is usually better.
If you have to have something that small, I have seen a few of the Mitsubishi 52" models on clearance at a great price. I've had mine a year and like it.
Finally, the Sony 50" SXRD RP is still on the market. A little pricey but a good performer.
