Looked at both and the Mits would only cost me $250 dollars more for 5". I know the difference between lcos and dlp, had a 60" xbr950 that was great but I wanted to step up to the 120hz 1080p. Picture quality i really can not tell the difference but I really cant judge because i didnt get to see them side by side in the store. I do remember the Mits having better colors a bit more vibrant. Anyone know the contrast ratio between the two? I tend to like watching my tv Bright. I'm also worried about reliability and longevity of dlp, never owned a set before. The mits had no rainbow effect either. Leaning towards the Mitsibishi though

Both are very nice sets, I went with the Mit as i think the PQ and colors are a little better,4HDMi 1.3 hools ups, like the over all looks of it better, and 5" more in size, Lcos and DLP both have their +'s and -'s, from everything i'd read, the reliability and longevity of Mit and Sony are about the same. what looks best over all to you is the one you should get,
I just went with the Sony A3000. I was comparing the same 2 sets as you. For me they were close enough in what I thought of them that the price difference was what made me choose. I didn't need 4 HDMI ports, and the 5" was marginal for my room size. I'll be about 12' from my TV if you are 15' or more it might be worth it to get the Mits, but I guess that's really all a matter of preference. I've got to admit that the trim of the Mits is beautiful, but I think the new Sony looks better than last year's model.
Edit: I get the TV on Saturday so I won't know all the details of my decision till then I guess.
