Hello All
I just got my 60inch sony xbr2 sxrd and have a question. The picture is excellent but I do notice something once and awhile. While watching TV specifically on solid light colors I notice sparkles of different colors. The sparkles look like they are overlayed on the picture. I cannot really describe it. For instance when watching an baseball or football game on HD I can sometimes notice different color sparkles on the uniforms (white). Its a bit strange, espically that it looks like the sparkels are over the picture not part of it. Is it the screen? Is that how its supposed to look? Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!
Eddie

It's related to the type of screen that is used on most current rear projection TVs. The common term on here is silk screen effect or SSE. It's typically going to show up more easily in a certain area of the screen depending on where you're watching from. I notice it on my SXRD, but I was more bothered by gray blacks on LCDs in low light and in rooms with windows I generally prefer a matte screen to the reflective screens on plasma.
