Big change at DVD Empire, will be interesting to see Nielsen numbers.
Iggster 09-10-07, 07:45 PM Blu ray 2006-2007 RIP lol well if it does die I just hope sony starts releasing some better games or else I have no choice but to sell my ps3.
DigitalfreakNYC 09-10-07, 07:50 PM jesus. talk about a flip.
Poolrad 09-10-07, 07:54 PM It just shows how easily things can change.
Red wins one week and it's news worthy? I'm as red as the next guy in the forum, but post this link in 4 or 5 more weeks and lets hope THEN that HD DVD was able to put together a bit of run, 1 week does not amount too much I'm afraid.

A reversal this big certainly is news..regardless of what you think.

Poolrad 09-10-07, 08:00 PM Yes it's news worthy, do you see the history on that page? To have such a drastic one week change is definitely worth a post on a forum designated for HD-DVD software.
That doesn't mean you have to participate.
Remember, every avalanche started as a snow-flake..

dalamchops 09-10-07, 08:01 PM and dvd empire is probably .001% of total HD media..
b.greenway 09-10-07, 08:02 PM and dvd empire is probably .001% of total HD media..
Even when it was reporting better numbers for BD.

Not even. Red wins one day and it's news worthy. That percentage is for this current week. We're only at Monday.
Red has had the early lead on other Mondays this past year. By the time Friday comes along, it will be a different number.
I wonder if numbers were simply typed in wrong. Wouldn't it seem more believable:
Blu-ray goes down to 66%
HD DVD goes up to 33%
It's one thing to see this happen within a month, but one week?
wprager 09-10-07, 08:19 PM Over at Amazon.com Transformers-HD is ranked #4 overall; it's doing even better than the DVD version. The next highest ranked high-def title is at #50 overall. Assuming that DvdEmpire is also pre-selling Transformers, that would easily explain the 2:1 swing the other way. It's just one title, and everyone was expecting it to do well. Not time to get excited yet.
But it's another link for me to bookmark, thanks:-)

Especially on a Monday (start of the week).
jlkeeton 09-10-07, 08:30 PM They sold 2 HD DVDs and 1 BRD :D. It really could be like that with those percentages being 2/3 vs 1/3...
atagert 09-10-07, 08:31 PM They also have a list of the top HD DVDs, and transformers isn't in it.

Quite possible that that list needs to be manually updated. I searched for it, and it's definitely available for pre-order. $3.64 more than Amazon -- is DvdEmpire usually higher priced than Amazon?
Who buys from this site? Do they somehow not know about Amazon?
wprager 09-10-07, 08:45 PM Well, actually, it just so happens that I signed up for an account with them just yesterday (that's why I happened to catch on the thread's title). I was looking for the best prices on BSG (just DVD; haven't jumped off the fence yet) and they had better prices than Amazon. And I also got a $10 off coupon code (for orders over $65). Too bad it has to be used up in one week, since I'm still waiting for BSG prices to drop further (perhaps when S3 is released).
Maybe I'll just sign my wife up at that point:-)
Erm,,,
Might have to do with the fact that BD didn't release any new movies last week. :D
jugganutz 09-10-07, 08:55 PM Transformers listed on there site
Current Sales Rank: 1
All-Time Sales Rank: 225
So there you go it's because transformers.
kevinca1 09-10-07, 09:06 PM All sales figures belong in sales thread,
