View Full Version : HDMI stopped working
StealthLSU 09-10-07, 08:02 PM anybody know any way to fix it. I have a Samsung HLR 5667W and have been using a Onkyo reciever as a switch. All of a sudden today the HDMI does not show up when trying to put it on that source. I tried putting the HDMI straight to the cablebox and my PS3 and neither will work.
Any clues on how to fix this?
StealthLSU 09-11-07, 07:53 AM anyone have any idea?

It's probably a HW problem with your signal board (or whatever does the HDMI hand-shaking & conversion). You could try opening it up and looking for swollen caps or a cracked joint, but it could be tough to pinpoint.
There was someone in the xxx725 forum who reported the same problem with a Mitsu DLP.
StealthLSU 09-11-07, 12:30 PM Update:
Still not working, but when I try the PS3, it switches to the HDMI source but stays black with no video. When I do the same with the cable box, I can't even get to the HDMI source. DOn't know what that means.

Had the same problem with my Mit 65734 (just stop working) tried another HDMI cable and anything was fine, so HDMi cable for whatever reason went bad after one week of used! I just send it back for new one(from BuyExtras.com)
When something like this happens, the 1st thing you should do is check cable, what i did!
StealthLSU 09-11-07, 01:13 PM yeah, I tried using another cable, but it didn't work. I guess I can try the last one I have, but I doubt it works as the first 2 didn't.

If that did not work, not sure what your problem is, the sure sounds like a problem with the tv!
StealthLSU 09-12-07, 01:29 PM I don't get it, I tried out 3 different cables and the same thing happens for all of them.
When I hook up the cable box, the HDMI does not show up at all. But when I hook up my PS3, it goes to that source but says "No signal or limited signal"
StealthLSU 12-08-07, 07:22 PM bumping an old thread because I'm still having troubles. I was just using the Component cables, but now I have a need for HDMI since I have upscaling DVD players and would like to be able to use it(only works on HDMI).
Still doing the same thing. hook it up through the cable box and I can't even select HDMI input source.
Hook it up through the PS3, and I get a no signal or limited signal message, but no picture.
I'm guessing this is a hardware problem like someone else stated, any clue on how much this would cost to have repaired? Is there any system restore on the TV or anything I could try that could get it working?
StealthLSU 12-09-07, 08:25 PM anyone?
JonDotCom 12-10-07, 09:39 PM Have you tried resetting the tv? There's a procedure where you hold down some of the buttons.. don't recall but a samsung rep walked me through it once.
That might help
