I have just upgraded to a 65" Mitsubishi DLP, the DirecTV installers are 3 weeks delays in getting my new HD DVR box so I currently have the TV hooked to my RCA UltimateTV unit still.
After switching the TV I changed the UltimateTV screen setting to 16:9. The wife had a recording a couple hours ago on TNT that appears to be recorded incorrectly, the picture is clipped at the top and bottom edges (The TNT logo is mostly cut off) and has horrible quality, worse that the other standard recording.
I say this is "recorded wrong" because if I change the DLP display formats for standard TV to the standard non-stretched format the picture is still clipped. The wife said the show is usually broadcast in widescreen, but I can't confirm that. It looks like the UltimateTV took a widescreen version of the image and clipped it. Another telling sign the picture appears clipped in the tiny "My Shows" windows as well.
Does anyone know what the problem is?
