First time poster who is not very knowledgeable................so please be gentle. :)
I just started receiving DISH HD.
My family room equipment for my wife (I usually watch in another room using a separate DISH receiver), which was purchased 5 years ago, is:
Receiver - Rotel RSX-1055
TV - Sony KF-60DX100
The TV's native resolution is 1366x768, and it has no digital connections.
Also, I can't readjust color convergence myself.......this requires a service call. My wife will frequently slide the TV around to view it from the kitchen, so convergence always seems to be out a little bit.
My video cables are component because of lack of digital connections.
I am considering upgrading to:
Receiver - Pioneer VSX-92TXH
TV - Sony KDS-60A3000
Question:
Qualitatively, how much improvement can I expect to see in picture quality by this upgrade...................obvious improvement or only modest improvement?
I would assume moving to 1080p and all HDMI connections would be a big improvement in quality............but I have no frame of reference for comparison.
BTW, I am certainly open to suggestions for other new gear. I've just always had good luck with the Pioneer Elite receivers and Sony LCD TV's. Also, there is a lot of light in the room, so LCD's seem to work well here. I'd love to go to flat screen, but too pricey for me at 60".
Thanks for the help.
