Hello everyone,

I just bought the Samsung DVD 1080P7 last week and haven't had any time to watch movies, but after some searches, I found way too many problems with this player. I bought it from FutureShop, and i'm thinking of exchanging it for the Sony DVPNS78H.

Just wanted to know if this would be a smart move? I'm not a technophile, but I do want the best PQ, and AQ I can get.

TV: LG 42LC7D

The 78H appears to be the same as the US-model 77H. See this thread...

I bought one last week on sale for $129.95 as Best Buy. So far I have no complaints at all. I have it hooked up to a Sharp Aquos LC42D62U via HDMI and I'm very satisfied with the picture quality.

Upscales very nicely to 1080p and the setup was very straightforward.

I have DVPNS75H, a predecessor to 7H/78H i believe, connected to 42LC7D TV via HDMI, and I love it. Before that I had a cheaper Polaroid LCD TV connected to this player and was getting a cropped picture...for some unknown reasons the left side of the picture used to be cropped for about half an inch...but now with this LG TV everything works like a charm.

Ditto!! I have the 75H and a 77h on the way. Check out Sonystyle.com and check out the outlet/refurbished deals.

There's no difference between the 77H & 78H?

I believe there is a difference;
The DVPNS78H can play Divx,
I don't think the DVPNS77H can.

Does anyone know of another region 1 or region free Sony DVD player with HDMI output, upconversion, and with Bravia theatre sync that can play Divx video?
