I have 3 UTVs, but only had one of the hooked up recently (all are currently subscribed). The one that was connected got the 3.8 update on Tuesday morning.

Will this update be available for all current boxes for the next few days, or was it a one time shot? I have two boxes at 3.5 that I'd love to get updated.

When I checked the status menu of the 3.8 box, it didn't mention any future upgrades. I hope that's because it already has 3.8.

It was in the stream the last two nights.

I hope they leave it in the stream longer then the 15th. I've been looking for a decent buy on a replacement RCA unit, but have failed to find one yet.

I wonder if the MSN servers have been updated with 3.8 if one tries to force a phone line down load??? At least that would be an option to get it once they remove it from the stream.

I had my 5 of my 6 UTVs update Tuesday morning around 3:41/42AM (CT). The last UTV (w/3.7) updated today (Wednesday).

I've been planning to do a 160GB upgrade on one or two of my UTVs in the near future... I hope to get 3.7/3.8 via download on those units. I don't see why they wouldn't offer 3.8 via modem download after 9-15-07. I can see DTV leaving 3.8 in the stream for a little longer after the main rollout. Just in case there are some "trouble" systems out there. I'd suspect many UTVers may not have "hardlines" for a modem download so keeping the SAT download available as an option seems reasonable to me.

Same here. I plugged in my spare unit, swapped the card, "refresh services", and wait overnight. Upgrade Complete!!!!

DirecTV plans to broadcast the 3.8 update every night for at least a year. Bring your boxes out of storage and upgrade them using the satellite. They may not even need a current subscription to receive the update. Can anyone confirm or deny?

Easier than having to pull the drive and use WinHex.
