In the last week I've ordered:

Grand Prix
Unforgiven
The Cowboys
The Bourne Identity
The Bourne Supremacy
Liar Liar
The Mummy
The Mummy Returns
Sahara
Mission Impossible Trilogy Box Set

and pre-ordered:

Top Gun
We Are Marshall
Transformers

Thankfully, an Amazon gift certificate took care of many of the titles. But, still, I'm doing something that I promised myself I wouldn't do too much of... double-dipping.

The problem is... HD DVD image quality is like drug addiction! It just looks so good up on my 70" screen! I can't get enough! I think I need to check myself into a 12-step program. "Hi, I'm Mark and I'm addicted to the look and sound of perfect!" :)

My DVD buying had really slowed down to a trickle but I've been in the same buying frenzy for the past year. I opened my disk drawer and half of my HD-DVD's are unviewed and i was actually surprised i had some of them. I'm slowing down a bit since i don't feel the urge to buy every single title even of crappy movies but all of a sudden there are so many more quality releases - Matrix Trilogy, Bladerunner, Elizabeth - We are the Studio's ultimate wet dream .

Ahhh...yes. I'll be a happy trooper when really bad DVD transfers like MEDICINE MAN, OUTLAND and THE ROCKETEER hit HD. I won't mind double-dipping then.

Yes OUTLAND...high noon in space. Must have since the SD DVD is such a crap transfer.

I only bought 1 DVD in my life and I will soon be at 18 HD DVD's. Some one needs to start a help program, as I am officially addicted!

I hate the double dipping crap ! Take 'Troy' for instance, its not bad enough they are double dipping but they have the DC at 23 bucks !
This means only one thing, we should boycot $ony :)

Well, obviously, THIS forum isn't the type of support program I need! You guys are all enablers! :)

P.S. Add Rio Bravo to my list of ordered titles. I had a bit of trouble with my Amazon Prime shipping options yesterday and, this morning, Amazon sent me a $10 gift certificate. Used it toward Rio Bravo.

BTW, I'm a pretty recent Amazon Prime member but I noticed the overnight shipping for Rio Bravo was only $1.99. I thought it was supposed to be $3.99?

Personally i dont mind double dipping since its often at least 4 years since i bought the original on SD dvd, as long as the reviews are good, not sure about tripple dipping though on stuff like fifth element that i bought twice on sd. Think i'll keep my HD collection down to around 100 titles and sell off a few as and when to save cash.

I was all excited that after a recent buying frenzy I was 6 days "high def sober"

Yeah, that didn't last once I saw the DVD Times review of Silent Hill HD DVD import...10/10 PQ.

So I got that one on the way now.

OK...NOW I'm done! I mean it.

I prefer the term validaters ... if everyone is doing it, I'm not alone and it must be ok. Sorta like sex. Only (sometimes, anyway) better.
