With prices getting lower on sddvd and scaling getting better could this mean the end for both hidef formats. over the past four months i have been going into hmv shops and looking at the hidef section and when i am there other people come and have a look at all the hidef software and then walk back to the sd dvd section and pick up four or six sd dvds. For example one man looked at the price of wild hogs on blu ray and then went and purchased the sddvd version. I admit i have done this sort of thing myself. i have some hidef discs but i believe that if both hidef formats dont get there software prices down or start putting a proper catalog out they to will disappear the same way that dvd audio and sacd did. At present i am watching a lot of my pal576 sd dvds upscaled to 1080p50 with a vp30 abt102d card and then displayed on my sony pearl projector. I do admit this is not truehidef but anyone out there with a large selection of sddvds like myself will have plenty to watch. i do hope that hidef picks up but the public never complained about sd dvd before hidef and now that its been out nearly a year now people are still buying sddvds and still have no complaints.
