They are ruining the usc/nebraska game with a unnecessary score bar in the top middle of the screen. What are they thinking about ?? We do not need to see the score more than the players. You can even see the camera man shifting around so it doesnt cut through peoples heads. Shame on ABC & ESPN.
Please complain if this affects you.

How is this different from the FOX BOX on Sundays or MLB or half the other sports on TV? Score bar is a part of TV nowadays and no amount of complaining will change that. At least its been moved up higher on the screen a bit and it doesnt go all the way across the screen like NBCs.
There's nothing wrong with the infobox denoting the televized game's score.
What I do have a problem with is the constant BottomLine on every college football and baseball (except Sunday night) game. That takes up close to double the space the normal score bar takes up.

I agree.
I just wish they they would move it to the left of the screen. Far left not in the middle.

I don't think anybody likes it, but that ship sailed years ago.
As an aside, it would be nice if there was a widely adopted interactive tv spec that could allow us to choose what on screen graphics as we desired.

An excellent idea! I'd love to get rid of those station logos too.

Network watermarks can't go, just to protect from people stealing material off the air, in this day and age of internet piracy, TIVO and YouTube thats a major concern but generally i dont find these to be obtrusive, half the time you dont notice them. Its the local station identifiers that are absolutely obnoxious. Its like they have a competition as to who can come up with the ugliest, most obtrusive monstrosity especially in small-market stations.

It amazes me that im in the premier video/audio forum and see comments like " It doesnt bother me " " Half the time i dont notice them " You do have a HDTV and eyes right?
That USC game last night had about 25% graphics on the screen. Just why i spent money on HD to not see the whole image. Heads being cutoff by graphics is outrageous. People like you guys are going to be real happy when they start this crap with movies too. DW in bottom right of transformers.....right??

It isn't - they're both idiotic.
If NFL on CBS was framed for 16:9 it'd be perfect - but even placed in the 4:3 area, it still makes ABC/FOX/ESPN and NBC look like they have no football fans in any key decision making positions.
The problem is not the score bars themselves it's that they have to sit them lower on the screen than people would like because of overscan on SD sets. If they could put them at the top it would be fine. I love the way TNT moves the score pad over into the 16:9 portion of the screen on the HD broadcasts... you don't have as much covered up. If only every network could move the score bar/pad for their HD broadcasts.
