i cant seem to get an hdmi handshake to work correctly between my JVC AV-48P575 rptv and my hd-a2. the hd-a2 has the 2.5 firmware and i am connected via a monster 400 series hdmi cable.
no matter how i turn the devices on, theres just no picture.
i thought maybe the set wasn't HDCP compliant, but i called JVC and they say it is. i don't understand it. i tried the cable on another tv and it worked fine.
is it possible that there would there be a pin difference since my set is from 2005 and likely an older/earlier implementation of HDMI?
i get a stunning picture via component, but i want to be able to scale my sd-dvds
i did a search and the only thing i found that might work is to replace the cable but my current cable was kind of expensive and i would like to be able to use it.
do any companies make an HDCP stripping device?
i'm stumped here.
