I've been trying to decide on a new upconverting DVD player, and I've been taking a liking to the Oppo's, and the Denon 1940. I don't know what to really look for, so I was wondering if you guys could help me with the pros and cons of both. My receiver is a Denon 4306, so it partly makes sense to go with the Denon DVD player. Thoughts?

2006 model 42" Magnavox plasma, 720p/1080i. Component and HDMI.Some plasma's are impacted by macroblocking effects of Farouja video processing which both Denon 1940 and Oppo 981HD have. I would recommend the $169 Oppo 980H (http://www.oppodigital.com/dv980h/default.asp) in this case, as it has component and HDMI support, as well as being a terrific universal player that would match the look of your Denon receiver.
