I did.. I bought my 5070 refurbished on eBay about 2 months ago from Pioneer/Channel Advisor. I was fairly skeptical but I did some research and finally bought one when I got one for the price I wanted. I took a chance but I lucked out and got one that didn't really have any cosmetic flaws (which they don't guarantee). The only thing I noticed was if you walked up right up to it and looked at the black finish with light reflecting off of it, it appeared to have waves in it.
Anyway, right out of the box it started having problems. It would shut off after 15-30 minutes of usage and the standby led would flash in sets of eight. If the A/C was down to about 77* or so it would last a long time (an hour or more), but right after I got home from work when the house was still warm, it would turn off in a matter of minutes. So I called Pioneer and got it picked up for warranty work the next week. It took about a week for them to diagnose and a few weeks to get the part ordered and delivered because the field engineer was on vacation and then wasn't calling the shop back (probably catching up). A week later they had the part in the television but couldn't get the picture right, so they were working with the field engineer and he couldn't figure it out.
To make this longer story short, I am awaiting the delivery of my brand new 5080 between 9 and 12 tomorrow! :D
I was getting slightly aggravated about not having a TV for 2 months, but they new how to make me happy! lol :) Oh yeah, and they credited me back all of my warranty so it starts over when I receive it.
Just thought I would share my experience, just in case anyone else is considering this option. I tend to be more daring than most people I know when it comes to eBay though.
