Hello, I have been asked by two non-tech-savy female friends to find them televisions. The requests are simple, I've done a lot of research leading up to my own recent Pioneer purchase but was looking for advice at two price points.

1. 50" between 1800.00 and 2400.00

2. 42" between 1000.00 and 1500.00

Thanks in advance. Using best googled price as a starting point and will contact forum sponsors before buying.

2) not sure - I'd probably pony up a bit extra for a 4280 - I guess there are some good Panasonics in that range but I'm unfamiliar with them.

5080 can be bought for less from forum sponsors??? Got me thinking now..:cool:
Less actually - but - as I just noticed - that doesn't include shipping. :(

What are they watching? What's their view distance? Really important stuff before we could give proper advice.

If they are sitting 6' away and watch a bunch of SD, maybe they will be happier with the smaller set. If it is for movies and they are 10' . . . well, you get the idea.
