I thnk it is safe to say that if September winds to a close without any further announcements, it becomes less likely we can expect any additional titles until 2008. Frankly, there are so many I want to purchase that I won't be that upset. I estimate that just figuring the "must haves" my wallet will be milked for nearly $1000.00 …by the time I have actually purchased everything I want I will need a second mortgage! Do we really think there is a need for additional announcements? Geesh!

There's still a ton of releases out now that I really want to get, so the Q4 releases are but a distant dream (oh, the pain of being a broke college student). That said, the Q4 releases I'll definitely be buying are..

Reign Over Me
2001: A Space Odyssey
Spider-Man Trilogy
Oldboy
Ocean's Giftset
Badder Santa

Do we really think there is a need for additional announcements? Geesh!

Uhh...yeah. There's not too many BD-only releases that I care about. Alotta crap.

Cars
Ratatouille
Die Hard Collection
Fantastic Four 2

I would be getting more from Fox if they didn't screw it up with the extras.

OTOH, there's pretty much a new HD DVD title I want every week. BD is pretty much dead for 4th quarter for me.

The four Anchor Bay titles should be at my door tomorrow, and they are my most anticipated releases on either format this year.

I'll definitely be getting Fantastic Four: ROTSS. If the transfers are new for the Die Hard Trilogy, I'll get 1-3 if I can
find them at a significant discount. Honestly, there are a LOT of Fox catalog titles I would buy if they were priced reasonably. 28 Days Later and Robocop in particular I will be desperate to find used or heavily discounted.

I'm torn on the Spidey set. I'd buy Spidey 2 in a heartbeat, but I've never cared much for the first one, and the third one had some incredible disappointments (Bernard the Butler scene, anyone?)

Definitely getting Pirates 3 for the wife, and likely to get the Pixar films (though I missed Ratatouille in the theaters somehow).

I'm also hyped for the Potter set, The Aviator, Deliverance, Twilight Zone, Wild Bunch, and a few others from Warner. Since the specs are identical, which format I buy them on is gonna be based on what deals I can find on them.

Definite:
Evil Dead II
Fantastic Four: Rise of Silver Surfer

Maybe:
Independence Day

That's all I really want this quarter.

Maybe:

Blade Runner: Complete Collector's Edition
Full Metal Jacket: Deluxe Edition
The Aviator
Day of The Dead
Dawn of the Dead
Robocop
28 Days Later
28 Weeks Later
Ratatouille

Probably:
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Evil Dead II
Die Hard Collection
Pixar Shorts Collection
Independence Day

Certain:

2001: A Space Odyssey
Omega Man
Lost - The Complete Third Season
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Cars
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Spider-man Collection

Ouch, gonna be expensive. :D

Pretty sure we'll get these since we didn't see them in the theater:
Ratatouille
Harry Potter & The Order Of The Phoenix
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

Maybe:
Surf's Up (probability will go up if Amazon's price drops from a relatively high $26.95)
We Are Marshall (more likely a rental for me or maybe buy it used later)
Live Free Or Die Hard (more likely a rental)
Cast Away (one of our favorites, but not sure we need to double-dip)

There are quite a few titles that I like that are coming out, but since I own the DVD I won't be getting them due to finite resources. Seeing that there is a birthday and Christmas still to come this year, it's unlikely I will get only the 3 I have as definites.

While I understand you need to turn everything into a pissing contest regarding the format war, I was simply answering the ops question.

As an owner of both formats, I wont be missing out on any movie, except that fox wont get my business. Simple as that.

Then you will be missing out on all the Fox movies in 1080P. Whippersnapper will be missing out on all the Universal and Paramount movies in 1080P(if he doesn't support HD-DVD). IMO you both need to move past this pissing constest and enjoy all the movies because imo you are only pissing on one thing and that is yourself.

Actually, you have it all wrong. You did not read what I said.

I am not refusing to buy Fox because it is BD. On the contrary, I am refusing to buy them because of the MSRP,DTS, and Constant delay BS. I will stick with Sony,Disney, and the cool Starz slate.
