I'm sure no one has the halo helmet yet but I wanted to open a thread for impressions of it cause I have it pre-ordered but I want to know if its worth the 70 bucks or not. My main problem with it is that it looks like plastic. So put up your thoughts or any info.

Its a miniature plastic helmet....probably the kinda thing you'd get a free Jr. Ice Cream Sundae in at Friendlys.

I have a huge feeling that its most definitely plastic. It would be cool if it was die-cast though.

It's plastic , I have seen it in person (well at least the one that I saw was plastic and it was about large enough to put on your cat or a small dog ) .

The artwork or the bonus DVDs I can understand but not the helmet. It is a cheap plastic replica. It is too small to fit on your head. Maybe your cat's head...or a neighbor cat's head but not yours. I am sure the hardcore halo freaks will still try anyway. LOL

I won't buy the set just to get the helmet, wait a week or two and get one on Ebay by itself, most likely its some cheap Chinese product. I would rather have a full sized replica anyway.

I should let you guys know that THIS WILL NOT FIT ON YOUR HEAD, YOUR CATS HEAD, OR YOUR NEIGHBOURS CATS HEAD.
It is a mini helmet, and the opening in bottom is a slot about 3 DVD game cases thick so that it can slide over the case stand that it comes with. It is a trophy that will sit on your shelf and collect dust. Just like the rest of the "collectors edition" crap that game companies put out. Personally, if I wanted to spend an extra $10 on a toy, I would buy a Nerf gun. =) Somthing that I can actually use (at work).

If they have any helmets left over they can use them in the collectors edition of MotorStorm 2.

Dude the artwork comes with the Limited Edition (in actual hardcover book form instead of a stupid DVD) as does the first bonus disc. The only thing that leaves special aside from the helmet is a collection of Halo and Halo 2 cut-scenes in HD, and some stuff from RvB and This Spartan Life that will all no doubt be online for free a week after launch. So for an extra $60 over the limited edition you're losing the cool metal case, and the artbook in exchange for the artbook on DVD with a few videos that you could get online and plastic helmet.

It's very much a chick magnet.

Who would have preferred a MC Bobblehead?

I would have bought the Ultra Legendary for a MC Bobble head. MSRP $199

Or perhaps the Elite Ultra Legendary, where you get a RC mini-warthog to drive your MC bobblehead around in.
